Integration with Clinical Systems
Qpath uses industry‐standard DICOM and HL7 interfaces to connect every step of the POCUS workflow with hospital systems: it ingests ADT‐based patient demographics to prepopulate worklists on ultrasound machines, receives or generates ultrasound orders via HL7 to drive modality worklists, and acquires images directly from any DICOM‐capable scanner. Clinically indicated exams can then be automatically or manually pushed to PACS/VNA over DICOM (with training exams filtered out), while completed reports (as structured text or PDFs) are sent back to the EMR via HL7—and even an EMR-embedded hyperlink to Qpath can be included for one‐click access. All of this eliminates manual data entry, ensures accurate charge capture, and keeps images and reports properly routed without leaving the point-of-care environment
Key features include:
- ADT-based patient demographics to prepopulate ultrasound worklists on devices
- Acquires images directly from any DICOM-capable scanner
- Filters out training exams when routing images to PACS/VNA over DICOM
- Sends finalized reports (structured text or PDFs) back to the EMR via HL7
- Embeds a one-click Qpath hyperlink within the EMR for direct access at the point of care
- Ensures accurate charge capture by integrating billing data throughout the POCUS process
